Performing Arts Lesson One
As a apart of our extended Media BTEC course we had to learn performing arts. for this we have to learn about Bollywood dancing and also the background. For our performing arts project we have to come up with a routine as a class. Our first lesson of bollywood dancing, we all moved tables and chairs to the side and made a dance floor in our media class room. A sixth former, who is currently studying bollywood dance, came to our lesson to help teach us some moves to the song Jai Ho. we chose Jai for our song because its fast, fun and something we can dance to. Once the song came on the sixth former had to leave and so our media teacher Miss Hainstock put on a video from online so we could copy them. Everyone in the start of our first dance lesson was reluctant to dance as we all felt slightly embarrassed and so we didn't want to follow along. Slowly person by person everyone started to copy the screen and so half way through the lesson we all were dancing and laughing. Once we had memorized our routine we performed it to Miss Hainstock. After that we got the rest of the free media teachers such as Miss Harris, Miss Eyers and Miss Thomas and also Mr Chapman. A few of us got up and taught them the routine and they performed it to us. We all cheered and laughed and then we got Miss Hainstock to join in and then we watched as they performed and we had so much fun. At the end we all did the routine one last time together before the lesson ended.
